COSTUMES
Hey Miami Mom! I'd like to try making for as many children as possible, so gathering details here, then will reach out with a plan. Will do my best to get back at everyone by EMAIL.
Note, I was expecting a handful but replies are pushing 100. Woah! Unfortunately I can only do this as a hobby but Moms- if you are looking for a side hustle, there is clearly a market. I’d gladly pass on what I know (especially if you have a Cricut; yes that’s HTV). Making these is not difficult and is super fun. I’d love to help a mom start up a business.
”Cost” for the materials FYI. The dress I posted is about 30 bucks for the dress and cape and another 15 for the belt and crown, not including that brooch on the cape. (I’d probably find an alternative because that brooch was pricey).
Thanks Moms! Jordan
ps. no measuring tape? use a piece of string and hold it against a measuring tape or if you have 12”, 18” or 24” tile floor you can use that to estimate.
Moms, a lot of the edges are left raw because it’s a costume and saves tremendous time for cooler things like beading. I also leave the bottom hem raw - cut it with scissors to fit the child’s height. There is a $15 Amazon crinoline giving it some fullness underneath, which I highly suggest getting. The top laces in the back, giving the shoulders and back some adjustable fitting. Bodice is lined with felt, not too itchy. Will try to post more pics in future.
